As you can read 2 posts down, Perfect World Beijing is gearing up to reveal its latest martial arts MMO in the coming weeks and months. I have just read a report claiming that this new title, now known as Swordman Online, will be also available on Xbox 360 and supports Xbox Live. Swordman Online was actually started by another developer, InterServ, which was bought over by Perfect World and further developed. InterServ has had experiences with Xbox games, the most popular one being Iron Phoenix.
Reports also claim that Perfect World’s Torchlight, developed by Runic Games, will also see a Xbox 360 version, something which was not denied by Runic’s CEO, Max Schaefer.
Just yesterday, Perfect World Beijing has officially announced the 100% acquisition of C&C Media, a Japanese online game operator which used to be under Atlus Japan. A sum of USD21 million was paid, and Perfect World confirmed its plans to enter the Japanese MMO market.
So you have it, Perfect World is indeed trying to conquer the MMO world. Please do note that only the acquisition of C&C Media is official, the rest of the details are digged out by various Chinese media sources.
