As Season 3 for League of Legends is arriving, there are several new changes to the game rules itself. But those changes were apparently extended to private casting (giving personal comments LIVE while matches are running), with popular caster Wombat restricted from doing so.
While I understand this is to let all the viewers tune in to Riot Games’ official streams with “professional” casters, it will be an ass of a move if private casters are hence unceremoniously booted without any proper plans to work together down the road.
Update: Wombat has clarified his comment, and is supportive of Riot Games going all out to brand eSports (similar to other sports like football, soccer, basketball etc). Image below taken from Reddit.
