Gameflier, one of the biggest online game publisher in Taiwan, has announced acquiring the rights to operate Civilization Online in the country. Developed by Korea’s XLGAMES (known for ArcheAge) together with IP owner 2K Games, this is the first overseas server for Civilization Online. Gameflier, Blizzard’s Taiwan partner, also announced ambitious plans to expand its operations overseas.
Powered by CryEngine 3, Civilization Online is very different from the online games we are used to, involving several actual civilizations (starting from the Stone Age) and an active age progression system. Players are able to build awesome structures, research new technologies, build weapons, go to war and more. Civilization Online is currently being localized, with no schedule confirmed.
